چکیده

We present new spectroscopic and photometric data of the Type Ibn supernovae 2006jc, 2000er and 2002ao. We discuss the general properties of this recently proposed supernova family, which also includes SN 1999cq. The early-time monitoring of SN 2000er traces the evolution of this class of objects during the first few days after the shock breakout. An overall similarity in the photometric and spectroscopic evolution is found among the members of this group, which would be unexpected if the energy in these core-collapse events was dominated by the interaction between supernova ejecta and circumstellar medium. Type Ibn supernovae appear to be rather normal Type Ib/c supernova explosions which occur within a He-rich circumstellar environment. SNe Ibn are therefore likely produced by the explosion of Wolf– Rayet progenitors still embedded in the He-rich material lost by the star in recent mass-loss episodes, which resemble known luminous blue variable eruptions. The evolved Wolf–Rayet star could either result from the evolution of a very massive star or be the more evolved member of a massive binary system. We also suggest that there are a number of arguments in favour of E-mail: [email protected] C © 2008 The Authors. Journal compilation C © 2008 RAS 114 A. Massive stars exploding in a He - rich circumstellar medium . II . The transitional case of SN 2005

We present photometric and spectroscopic data of the peculiar SN 2005la, an object which shows an optical light curve with some luminosity fluctuations and spectra with comparably strong narrow hydrogen and helium lines, probably of circumstellar nature. The increasing full-width-half-maximum velocity of these lines is indicative that the circumstellar material is accelerated by the SN ejecta. ...

Sn 2006jc: a Wolf-rayet Star Exploding in a Dense He-rich Circumstellar Medium

We present optical photometry and spectra of the peculiar type Ib supernova (SN) 2006jc. Strong He I emission lines indicate the progenitor star exploded inside a dense circumstellar medium (CSM) rich in He. An exceptionally blue continuum persists from our first spectrum obtained 15 days after discovery through our last spectrum ∼1 month later. Based on the presence of isolated Fe II emission ...

Circumstellar interaction in type Ibn supernovae and SN 2006jc

I analyse peculiar properties of light curve and continua of enigmatic Ibn supernovae, including SN 2006jc, and argue in favour of the early strong circumstellar interaction. This interaction explains the high luminosity and fast flux rise of SN 1999cq, while the cool dense shell formed in shocked ejecta can explain the smooth early continuum of SN 2000er and unusual blue continuum of SN 2006jc...

HOT COAL FOR CHRISTMAS: DUST FORMATION IN THE SWEPT-UP SHELL AROUND THE PECULIAR TYPE Ib SUPERNOVA 2006jc

We present evidence for the formation of dust grains in an unusual Type Ib supernova (SN) based on late-time spectra of SN 2006jc. The progenitor suffered a giant outburst qualitatively similar to those seen in luminous blue variables (LBVs) just 2 years prior to the SN, and we speculate that the dust formation we observe is an indirect consequence of that event. The key evidence for dust forma...

The Peculiar Type Ib Supernova 2006jc: a Wc Star Explosion

We present a theoretical model for Type Ib supernova (SN) 2006jc associated with a luminous blue variable (LBV)-like event. We calculate the presupernova evolution of the progenitor star, hydrodynamics and nucleosynthesis of the SN explosion, and the SN bolometric light curve (LC). The observed bolometric LC is constructed by integrating the UV, optical, near-infrared (NIR), and midinfrared (MI...
